Voice over IP (VoIP)

I have doing a solid round of testing with the mesh. With the help of the threads on here and other resources I have been able to set up a functional FreePBX with different extensions. I have just started to get my feet under me with setting up linphone app, soft phones, and my grandstream phones. The next step is researching what may be the best sip truck provider. I have gone through and reviewed most of the treads that I could find in here with regard to recommended carrier. Some of the posts looked a bit old. 

Are there any Android apps that permit direct IP dialing?

  So as the subject says I'm new.  But I'm also new to mesh so double whammy!

  I have 3 nodes (a 4th one but it's USB and use it when I'm away from home to connect to my mesh network).  Main node is the MikroTik hAP AC Lite (dual band) from the supported list.  Two CPE-210's v2.8.  The mesh network has been working fine.  I have one (1) Raspberry Pi connected in which acts as my MeshChat server, Apache for web stuff and then Synchronet BBS for the fun of it.

This is in response to the post by VK1MIC which strangely does not appear here.

I am having good success so far with Grandstream Wave softphone.

How to configure:
set up a dummy account such as 1.1.1.1 with name like "test"
sip userid anything such as your call sign.
use checkmark in upper right to save account settings.
disable random ports
disable use # as dial key
when dialing a call use * for . and # for :
ignore all other settings.

You must have a SIM card in the iphone.

Grandstream makes much of the hardware that hams use on the mesh.
They also have a great software program called Wave. It allows iphones and android phones
to intercommunicate over the mesh.  
N2MH has a nice description on here.

It would be very nice if PCs and Macs could also join in these phone calls.
I was overjoyed to read recently that Wave is now available for Macs and PCs.
So I immediately went out to download the software and make it work.

As a test, I set up a stress test to see what I could do in building confidence in the phone system on the mesh. I opened up our conference line and we welcomed in as many users as we could to see how things would perform. What I found was we were only able to bring in 5 callers on the line at once. This seemed like a far cry from what it should be able to do.

I know I have been on the east coast weekly conference call in a few times and it worked very well. I guess with that said I need to find the pinch point in my system

Hi guys, apologies if this has been posted before but I reviewed several threads and didn't find anything.

I bought a Grandstream GXP1625 and put it on the MESH network.  The direct IP address of the phone the ARDEN mesh is 10.88.207.114.

I have no issues going through the menus to make a direct IP dial call.  It works.  It also works with a VOIP provider on a SIP account I have.  I can dial out to normal phone numbers.

But here's the question: how do you edit the phone book entries to dial by direct IP?  

I have tried all of the following settings:

x.x.x.x in work phone entry
x*x*x*x in work phone entry
