Analog Telephone Adapters

Anyone have experience or recommendations on using Analog Telephone Adapters on an AREDN network?
Is a VOIP phone preferable?  Recommendations?  Alternate solutions?

Grandstream 1630 Speed Dial

A new meshie in our area brought over a brand new GXP-1630 because he couldn't get the speed dial buttons to work.

Apparently starting with Grandstream firmware 1.0.4.5x  there was a change in the selection of the Speed Dial buttons function  (MPK)

Originally you chose the "Speed Dial" function for the button you were assigning an IP address to call.  On this newer firmware you chose:
"Speed Dial w/Active Account" as the button function.

The rest is the same, in that you enter the dial IP string as on a BasicTalk:
*4710*123*456*78"

Trunks to my PBX

Hello, all...

I have just setup my PBX a couple of days ago.
My PBX is located in Wayne, NJ with office code 973-33. My PBX handle the calls for 973-3300 to 973-3399 and issues extensions in that range.

I am looking forward to trunk with other PBXs in the MeshPhone network.

If you are interested, edit the configuration below to match the information for your PBX and email it to me (aly@al0y.com)... I will reply back confirming the trunk and the configuration for both ends.

one way audio with IP phones

our network has a raspberry PBX server at one of our mountain top sites.  most of our group has a direct connection to the node that it is connected to.  a little further south is another mountain top node for us in the southern part of the valley.  I connect to this second node.  with the mountains and valleys here, we have more of 2 hub and spoke designs, and not so much "mesh"  these 2 sites are connected with a stock Ubiquiti firmware bridge,  here is the issue I am seeing.  many of us are using Cisco SPA504G IP phones.  the guys on teh north end of the county can talk to each other just f

inexpensive audio streaming

Yes, this is in the VoIP section... for a reason.
For  meshies like me who are not  IT guru's, I cringe at any new task that may require a server computer or pi  to be set up and kept running 24hrs/day,   I am just not versed in this server magic like many of you  are smiley

FreePBX (MeshPhone) Office Code

I'm attempting to setup FreePBX with the MeshPhone configuration. Who assigns or how can I determine what my "office code" is? What is my npa?

In the Sorry Message, change the digits 97321 to be your npa plus the; first digits of your local extension range. This is called your "office; code".

Thanks

GXV3275 will not talk to each other

I have two Grandstream GXV3275s running, but cannot get them to call each other on an IP-IP basis.
I have spent lots of hours over the past week reading and trying different configurations with no success so I have done the following to both phones.
  • factory reset
  • set "quick IP call mode" to YES
  • check that pre-configured account 6 is set to "registered" and shows green
  • set the callee phone to "IP call"

Grandstream HT502

I need some help, trying to install a Grandstream HT502 and unable to figure out how to set it up. Using Raspberry pi and a asterisk pbx. The node will not see it. Tried everything I can think of and don't have a lot of experience with VoIP. Tried Google and YouTube with no luck. Any help would be great, Thanks

Polycom Soundpoint 301

I have a 301 that will set up nicely as an extension on one pbx but not another. Asterisk versions are the same and configs look identical but no joy on my pbx. Anyone with thoughts or run into a similar challenge?
