M2 inconsistencies

Forums:
I have a Rocket M2 mated to a 120 Sector with approximately four consistent clients accessing it. All have strong, -25-32 dbm SNR links. None are able to achieve truly consistent LQ or NLQ to the sector and, as would be expected with this the throughputs vary.

I have run wifi scans both at the 10Mhz that the nodes are running on -2 as well as on the 20Mhz to see what might be interfering. As would be expected, there is traffic out there on the 20Mhz width with some being on channel 1 though channel 1 is not a factor at the Rocket/Sector end of the link.

Bullet M2 Tunnel

Forums:
Quick question (Maybe :)  ) ...  What would be the max amount of tunnel connections on a bullet that also has somewhere between 10 and 20 RF clients

load balancing (?)

Forums:
A question came up regarding increasing throughput between two endpoints. The obvious answer is to increase throughput increase S/N and/or increase channel width.

How to force a route

Forums:
Is there a simple way to force a route between nodes?  We have a situation where two nodes are far apart, and the routing algorithm chooses to go
directly between them,  and we get pings of 2-3 seconds.
Yet there is an intermediate node that has pings of 15 ms to either end node.  We need to force the route to use the intermediate node.

Thanks!

Reload AirOS to Rocket with Aredn installed

Forums:
I have tried to reload airos to my rocket m5 with aredn installed. I can get it into recovery mode but don't know what IP address it has to do the tftp. Any help would be appreciated.

Channel and Bandwidth combos that are out of band

Forums:
I was cruising around the AREDN html map looking at the beta nodes that are running. I see a few nodes that have channel and bandwidth settings that I believe put them out of band.  For example, running 20MHz bandwidth on 5GHz channel 184 will put you out of the ham allocation. (5920 is the center of 184, 10MHz on the high side puts a signal up to 5930)

My first question...the channel frequencies....those are center frequencies, right?

Limiting nodes that may join the mesh

Forums:

In describing AREDN to a fellow ham, the topic of security or malicious interference came up. I also saw the ragchew conversation about and X86 build based on the software.

Is there already a way to control who can join an AREDN mesh? Or are we left with what we do with FM repeaters (you can tell someone to not use the system, but there is limited technology available via Part 97 to prevent use)?

partial upgrade from BBHN

Forums:
My nearest neighbor has a Ubiquity and a Linksys and both are running BBHN.  I am running AREDN and I changed my SSID and channel to match his and things seem to be working except we are on a congested channel and we would like to go to channel -2.  He could upgrade his ubiquity to AREDN but he also wants to keep his linksys connected.  What is the best way to do this ?
