NanoBridge M3 (or NanoBridge NBM365) vs Rocket M3/RocketDish

Forums:
We want to establish a point to point link with a distance of 18 miles. The NanoBridge specs show a range of 30+ KM (18.6 miles) which put these at the edge of published range. Now the Rocket M3/RocketDish shows a range of 50+ KM (30 miles) which seems to be a much better choice although higher priced. Anyone have experience with the NanoBridge at distances greater than 18 miles? Would we be okay with the NanoBridge or should we go with the Rocket M3/RocketDish?

Comments on which way to go would be appreciated.

Improvements in New Jersey

Forums:
Well, after noticing a couple of stations intermittently hearing our 2.4 GHz node on Garret Mt., we decided to try an experimement by replacing the NSM2 with ano M2 Rocket and a pair of verticals. To be honest the site is not great, but valuable for coverage on the mountain, and not so much to the mountain. We will be adding another node soon to improve overall coverage in the valley, but in the meantime, we will work with what we have.

Hello,

One of the BP agents here in Tucson is also a ham. He has gotten approval to deploy nodes on their tower that is around 100' high. Here is his questions.

How often does the US coverage map update? We've had quite a few improvements in the last month now quite showing up.

Proximity of Routers to other HAM antennas?

Forums:

I have bought and set up a Ubiquiti NanoStation M2.

Now I am planning to place it on my chimney mast (5 to 10 feet above the chimney) either below or above the ground plane for a 2 meter ringo.

Because I want the NanoStation as high as possible, I wonder if the NanoStation interfere with the 2 meter antenna and/or vice versa, if I place the router between the ringo ARX2B and its ground plain (which is about 2 meters below)?

Commercial Installation Hardware

Forums:

I'm planning a large installation this Saturday on two commercial towers here in Southern California.  In the planning process I didn't know where to turn for mounting accessories for these large-legged beasts.

... so I thought I'd share a few sites I've found.

Network Performance

Forums:
I was looking at one of the HD ipCams on our network this evening and thinking how far mesh deployments have come in a relatively short period of time.  Just 3 years ago, we were toying with ch 1 and linksys hardware, barely able to go just a few miles with limited quality links struggling to open a web page.     The ipCam I accessed today had smooth video and I could remote control it with instant feedback.  Check out the distance and routing obtainable --QTH to the ipCam:.
