How much mesh traffic overhead is created by the nodes just talking to one another?   
Does this increase if you have more nodes?
Is it a problem if you have lots of nodes connected?

I've got Zabbix installed in my shack, but I'm struggling to grasp how to configure it  I use Zenoss RM at work, so I understand SNMP, etc but Zabbix seems to be a different animal.
Can someone point me to some simple starter docs so I can get started?

Is there a way to add a "published" hostname, with services attached to that hostname, *without* using a DHCP lease? I have a system with eth1 already getting a DHCP lease from the mesh node, it has a hostname host.local.mesh, everyone on the mesh can resolve this hostname without issue. But is there a way I make eth1:0 have a "published" hostname of host1.local.mesh without using the DHCP lease functionality? I have no problem editing a config file or two... thank for any info! 73 Eric - kg6wxc

Good morning!

I'm a newbie to mesh net (not to mention networking).  A small group of us in Walla Walla, WA, have been testing out BBHN using both Ubiquiti M2 Rockets and Linksys routers (running completely on 2.4 GHz), but we then heard about AREDN.  I'm quite impressed with the approach and organization for the system, not to mention the available information.  Thank you!

Is there a tool we can use that shows how much traffic is flowing in and out of each mesh node?
Even better would be to know not just the total traffic, but the traffic to and from each other node separately.

I've a couple of questions, first some backdrop. I'd like to stir up some interest in east Dallas. Problem being that this area has mature pecan and oak trees. I want to reach out to east Dallas hams but would like to have an idea on how we could organize first.
