Recommended Video Cameras

Forums:
We need video cameras which are completely controllable from their built-in web server, so no special software in required.
They need to have controllable frame and data rates etc.   What do you recommend? We have been using some el cheapo cameras which just
don't work well over the mesh.  Need recommendations for both fixed and PTZ models.  Thanks!

Deployment: Tools: /tmp/rssi.log query

Forums:

Attenuated Suspect <mac> [dBm dBm]: What is an 'attenuated suspect'?

How might this information be of diagnostic value?
-----

Does no entries in /tmp/rssi.log for over 4 days on a very active node indicate anything?

MESH Processes, Procedures, Protocols and Guidelines

Forums:
Hello AREDN Community,

Guadalupe mtn near Quartzsite, AZ

Forums:

I am in the beginning stage of planning a future deployment to Guadalupe mtn, 10 miles east of Quartzsite, AZ @ I-10.  The site owner requires some technical rigor, but the cost ongoing to local AREDN members will be cost recovery for electricity, probably <$50/mo. All installation - and equipment cost - is the responsibility of local AREDN members under supervision of sight owner. The site has only 12VDC and -48VDC power.  Guadalupe is 2400' elevation and a nearby peak may occlude path to Crossman Peak near LHC - Lake Havasu City, AZ.

Equipment:

PBE-M5-620

Forums:

Under AREDN firmware does the PBE-M5-620 QRO to 26 dBm as does the PBE-M5-400?

e.g. Under Ubiquiti firmware is the PBE-M5-620 throttled back to conform to Part 15?

Getting a complete node list

Forums:
I would like to periodically grab a list of all nodes on the mesh with IP Address and host name. Basically, the first two columns of the Topology Entries section from http://localnode.local.mesh:1978/nodes, sorted for unique entries.  The IP Addresses are available from http://localnode.local.mesh:2006/topo, but not the host names.  I know I can loop through this list and get the host names through several means. But, it would be nice to get this in one simple grab.

Puerto Rico needs an AREDN Network

Forums:

I am putting together a team in response to the ARRL's request for Hams to deploy to Puerto Rico for the express purpose of building an AREDN network in order to restore data and voice communications to shelters, law enforcement, and other emergency service agencies.

Need Photos

Forums:

I could use a few more pictures of deployed end-point nodes.  I'm making final edits to my Hamvention presentation and it could use your pictures taken of AREDN nodes actually installed and being used in an emergency, drill, or public service event.

If you are willing to share, please forward to me at <callsign>@arrl.net

Thanks!

Network Mapping

Forums:
Hello again to all. After having life get in the way for a long time, I have updated my mesh mapping system.
The few people who had the earlier versions *should* be able to update without much issues, but there have been many changes. You would probably be better off starting over from the earlier versions of my scripts (unless you know what you are doing and as always YMMV). A live demo can now be found at: https://mapping.kg6wxc.net/meshmap/map_display.php
