Updated: Best Mobile Node for RV/Motorhome

Forums:

I recently acquired a 2007 Coachman Freelander Motorhome and wanted to put a AREDN node on it that could connect to anyone in the US. What equipment would be recommended. I've watched the ARDEN in the Park video and was thinking of a similar setup, just mobile. As for mounting the node on the antenna of the RV, this one came with an Omni TV Antenna so there is no mast that I have to raise to get a signal. So no where to mount the AREDN Node, except maybe on the ladder in the back.

Power systems

Forums:

I am trying to get a shopping list for Solar Power and wanted to get some feedback. Specifically:

Do the power assumptions seem reasonable?

Any suggestions on equipment vendor, particularly charger controllers?

  Other comments, ideas?

Some givens:

Average watts per radio = 3 (Based on observered draw of 2.5w and Ubiquiti's estimate of 4w

Best antennas for sites

Forums:
Hello, we started the implementation of AREDN in Puerto Rico island.
Http://praredn.org you can visit us.

Mostly we are using in our homes ubiquiti pbe-400-m5 (5ghz)

how ever we noticed that they are very sensitive due to radiation patterns, it requires to align to an specific point to be able to connect with good signal

Can AREDN interoperate with HSMM systems?

Forums:

I have a deployed based of HSMM systems, some of which are not supported by AREDN.

Setting up EmCommMap and having issues.... Lots of issues...

Forums:
Hi, everyone,

So, I've followed the steps at https://github.com/DanRuderman/EmComMap and have it working sort-of. If I have my install set at "local", everything works. But, when I change it to "my-install", I get "Page cannot be reached" errors. Specifically, I get "Connection Refused" errors.

Here's what my config.js looks like (note, I'm only showing you up to part of the "local" section, because that all works):

MOU Agreements

Forums:

Does anyone have a Boilerplate MOU agreement for a node placement in this case would be on a water storage tower but it can work with a tower agreement as well?

Thank you in advance,

Connection to Home Router

Forums:
I have done a lot of searching and have been able to partially get my setup working, but need some additional help to complete my setup.

Here is what I have

Home Router (Asus RT-AC68P) connected to a Mikrotik hAP ac (RB952Ui-5ac2nD-US) into port 1.

From the Mikrotik I have TP-Link CPE210 connected into port 5.

Both the Mikrotik and the TP-Link have been flashed with the latest firmware and I have done all the required setup, but I must be missing something.

Mesh Network in Maine

Forums:
I am new to this group. I do have a network background and have setup building to building wireless networks in a past life. Attached is a high level diagram (Future-Mesh.pdf). This is what I am proposing and the only high ground mesh node that is approved so far is in Brunswick, Maine (direct approval from Bill K1MNW and placed on the top of his 250 foot tower). I have a home mesh node up and running at 60 feet and above tree line. The first mesh node with great coverage will be going up at K1MNW's QTH (in the lower left of the PDF).
