At some time previous maybe in 3.0.2 we could identify tunnel connections on the MESH STATUS list as they had a "(dtd2)"? listing after the connected node name. Now there is NO indication of a connected tunnel - looks just like an RF connection.
This is probably a feature request, but sure would be nice to be able to identify tunnel connected dones by looking at the list..

WAN means the node is a mesh gateway. Many Tunnel Servers/clients have set it up because they also like to merge out to the internet. I have also seen it in cases where some node operators believe incorrectly that you have to be a meshgw for the node itself to access the internet which is false.
