Northwestern Ontario

Hello everyone,

My name is Cory VE3ZCV, I have been experimenting with mesh networks for a while now with BBHN and Linksys routers and the Rasperry Pi. I have just purchased a M2 rocket router and I am looking start-up a mesh with some local hams. We are just starting out with everything, and sorting out how many Hams are interested in expanding. Right now we are in the feasibility stage and are looking to set-up a demo for field day. Hopefully we can get the mesh off the ground.

Toronto joins the Golden Horseshoe MESH

Greetings all!

It's time to bring the Toronto (GTA) area into the Golden Horseshoe MESH.
After doing a lot of reading and looking at maps of current nodes (both BBHN and AREDN),
I decided to bite the bullet and purchase a couple of NanoStation M2's.

One is already configured and on the air at 43.703809, -79.422269 facing west at 130 feet AGL.
It is configured to operate on channel -2 @ 10 Mhz width.
This is in the heart of mid-town Toronto, on top of an apartment building.

Greetings to all.
As many would know I also have been in this space MESH for many years.  Going back to the days of BOB setup of the dishes on top of the repeater building with JIM for the Mississauga Amateur Radio group.

Over the last few years we are having group ZOOM meetings weekly about Mesh or AREDN and face to face

York Region

Hi I'm Chris VE3NRT, President of York Region ARC. We are looking at AREDN here finally, and I have a couple of nanostations to play with that appear to the be of the right type. Seeking "friends in high places" in the region to locate some AREDN equipment, and also looking at ad-hoc networks with Nanostation and others as appropriate for portable Winlink operations (see my article in the next TCA). We might be able to get access to some water towers although I expect approvals will be quite slow.

Southwestern Ontario

I am looking to connect with VA/VE Amateurs in Southwestern Ontario that are interested in building a network Windsor through London.
