I'm using KVM virtualization on an Ubuntu server so I decided to give the x86 VM a try. I converted the raw image to qcow2, then created a VM based on the disk image. I gave it 4 processor cores and 2 GB of memory. The VM booted, and I was able to get into the firstboot web interface. The VM issued an IP address on the 192.168.1.0/24 network and everything seemed to be working fine. I logged in with the default credentials and changed the node name and password, then saved the info and allowed the VM to reboot. After the reboot, the web interface is no longer available.
The VM shows up as DtD. I've attempted to ping the IP addresses of the machine from other machines on the network with no response. I've also tried to ping from the VM to other machines with no response. The VM issued IP addresses on its LAN network, but after receiving the address the gateway won't respond to pings.
I understand KVM isn't formally supported, but I thought I might have a chance in making it work. Things were looking good after firstboot, but I was disappointed to see things stop working after the node name and password change. I'd like to get this to work, and I'm open to suggestions. Thanks.
