It's exciting to see experimental work on the babel protocol!
This is good stuff.
In the description of the experimental features (Mesh PtMP), mention is made of a "Station Node".
A question - what is a "Station Node"? How is this different from a regular node?
I've looked at RFC 6126 and RFC 8966, and neither defines what a station node is.

In the context of WiFi, a station node is essentially synonymous with a station (STA) as defined by the IEEE 802.11 protocol. A station is any device that has the capability to use the 802.11 protocol, such as laptops, desktop PCs, PDAs, access points, or Wi-Fi phones. These devices can be fixed, mobile, or portable and are often referred to interchangeably with terms like "wireless client" or "node" in general networking terminology.
For more context, stations can only talk to an access point, not to each other (unlike in ad hoc mode, which is AREDN's default mode).
Hope this helps.
