We've had good luck with Teamtalk. Making sure the server has a rock-solid wide-bandwith link into the network is vital. Individuals users' results will depend on their link quality back to the server. We limit video to a max of 800x600 & 15 fps.
Hello Orv, can you share some more details wrt how much
testing you have done w/Teamtalk?
You may have saved a lot people some serious time with that comment!
800x600 @ 15 fps is not for nothing when you find yourself in a situation where VidCon comms need to be happening now!
IIRC Teamtalk is as good or better than many VidCon systems in the InterVerse and either does not discriminate against evaluation customers or has such a low buy -in cost to participate that it is not an issue.
At what capacity (# of simultaneous vidcon participants) is it functioning via AREDN while isolated from access to Teamtalk's Servers within the throughput constraints you just identified?
To refine 'throughput' - at what speed (ETX limitations, link qualities and respective Tx Mps or iperfspeed metrics) does 'rock-solid wide-bandwith' commence<g>?
If you prefer we can talk or correspond via email, I think you already have all my contact info but if not - callsign@arrl.net & I will email telco & cell contact info unless email works better for you.
In any case sharing more specifics here might be a very good idea to save folks from reproducing your work or to set a bar for VidCon performance via AREDN and document minimum circuit requirements.

If someone has tried both Teamtalk and Trueconf, I'd like to know their comparison.
