I just upgraded my Rocket M2 XW from 3.24.x.x to 3.25.2.0. After reboot I discovered the MAC had changed.
Before upgrade the MAC was e0:63:da:d3:c3:35 and now it's 02:ec:84:fb:0f:3d
Is this normal?

Create a DHCP pool on your PFSense server which includes your desired address, then
reserve that address for your device.

My home configuration is using PFSense for my main Firewall. My Rocket M2 is assigned a static IP address within the DHCP pool (192.168.10.51).
After upgrading and rebooting the Rocket M2 grabbed a dynamic IP address from my pool (200-225). It grabbed IP address 192.168.10.220.
When I looked through my DHCP leases, I discovered it had changed MAC addresses. I was able to access the Rocket M2 on the .220 address.
I have rebooted the Rocket M2 several times and it still grabs a dynamic IP address based on it's new MAC address.
"I did that."
I think you did not update PFSense to RESERVE the new MAC in the new IP pool.
If you are going to assign a host a static IP address, then
I suggest that you disable DHCP on that host.
Or,
If you leave DHCP enabled on that host,
create a (new) DHCP pool that contains your desired IP address and reserve that address
in PFSense for the MAC of that host.

"My original post was asking why my Rocket M2 changed it's MAC address after an upgrade."
"Is this normal?"
Likely, no.
It seems that your Rocket M2 is set to obtain an IP address via DHCP.
It seems that your Rocket M2 did not have a 'static' assigned IP address.
Semanticly, you seem to have been using a "DHCP reservation" and not a "static" address.

What a pain!
