Unable to connect to WAN

Hey all,

I am currently running into issues conning to my WAN. Here is my current setup with my settings for KE0BCQ-1.

So far I been able to get the mesh to communicate with each other without any major issues. The only issue I am running into now is I am unable to connect to the internet from my home computer on KE0BCQ-2. Does anyone have any tips or ideas of what might be causing this?

Thanks,
Adam

Unable to connect to WAN

Hi, Adam:
Nice artwork.
I'd like to see a screen capture of KE0BCQ-1/status.
Especially showing the 'WAN address' and 'gateway'.
If you are running AREDN firmware on the LHGs, you may need AREDN firmware on the RB952s, too.
Your artwork did not display a 'node name' for the RG952s, so I assumed that AREDN firmware is not on them.
On the other hand, I think you could have omitted AREDN firmware and set that equipment up using RouterOS.
Lastly, I see no purpose to the 'Switch'. The RB952's WAN port can go directly to your internet source.
I hope this helps,
Chuck

Hey Chuck,

Hey Chuck,

Here are the photos I think you are talking about:

I am currently only running the AREDN firmware on the dishes, the routers currently have RouterOS on them. The switch is for testing and other computers on my network.

Thanks,
Adam

Unable to connect to WAN (continuing)

+1 with K6CCC.

Hi, Adam:

You do not have a WAN connection.
Your screenshot of your /status page indicates so.

And, I am unfamiliar with your equipment path toward the 'Internet' cloud image.
The ISP/internet connection should first see a WAN port on a router (could be your RB952).
Then your switch would connect to a LAN port of that router, if you needed more than the standard 3 or 4 LAN ports.
A typical internet connection would come from a DSL, cable, or fiber modem or modem/router combo.
Your artwork does not show a modem or modem/router.

I am not familiar with RouterOS and this is not the forum for using RouterOS as a typical internet/WAN on-premise router.

For assistance in this forum, the Mikrotik RB952s would need to be running AREDN firmware.
Unless you are planning to create a new or join an exiting AREDN network,
I recommend you use RouterOS on all 4 Mikrotik devices.

I hope this helps,
Chuck

KE0BCQ-1 does not have a WAN
KE0BCQ-1 does not have a WAN IP address.  Not going to work that way for your purpose.  The settings shows it is DHCP, so sounds like there really is no connection, or the router is not providing DHCP service for the node.

I can help with ROS
I am fairly familiar with RouterOS (have had several of their routers for years).  If you need some assistance with ROS, feel free to ask.

I was able to get everything
I was able to get everything going and connect to the WAN after I flashed both of the routers. Thanks everyone for the help!
