I live in the West Side of Milwaukee, while still technically considered south. Anyone willing to tunnel?
I believe I need to tunnel to experience this network. I am green to this side of ham
I have 2.4 M2's to experiment with. I also have a MikroTik hAP RB952Ui just like every other node near me. I was going to get a 5.8 MikroTik but I am holding off since I don't believe any other stations will be in range for directional. I am willing to place an omni antenna on my rooftop, but it would only be 20-30 feet off the ground making it ideal for immediate neighbors.
I am still learning, and would like to add to the mesh neighborhood with a service using a pi or device.
I read about hub's. I would like to know more about them, is there a WI or Midwest one? Perhaps I can build / host one if needed?

Are you willing to put an omni antenna on top of a tall building?
What sites are the local VHF/UHF using? May you install an AREDN hub on their site?

Any AREDN node can be a hub.

Thank you for the response. Now that I had a few days hands on with my devices I have a better understanding of it.
I am willing to put it on a tall building, I do not have personal connections but I may ask at my work, see if they will let me and advertise it on the map for a month to see if anyone links up.
