Hi everyone,
New to AREDN I just bought a "MikroTik HAP ac Lite" router and a Ubiquiti Powerbeam M5-300.
The router is flashed with firmware AREDN 3.23.8.0. The antenna is not AREDN flashed, just updated to the latest Ubiquiti firmware (XW.v6.3.11 Build Number: 33396)
With the POE adaptator included, the M5 power on
But if I connect the M5 to the port 5 "POE Out" of the router, it does not power on (no LED on).
I've tryed with router
a) powered throug POE on port 1
b) powered through AC adapter
c powered with a) and b) toogether
No one allow the M5 to to power on ;-(
My goal is to be able to operate a mobile AREDN station, with only a 12V power supply
Any suggestion ?
Advanced Configuration
Is POE passthrough 'ON' ?

Hello,
You say you want to run the entire thing from 12VDC. The hAP might boot on 12V but I doubt the antenna will. The POE in the hAP is pass thru so what you give the hAP is what the antenna will see. The optimal voltage is 24VDC so you need a boost converter before the power injector.
Some of the newer hAP have been giving folks problems but if you do like Chuck says in settings, and power the hAP with 24V then the antenna should be happy. If not, it's easy to split the 24VDC and put one 5.5mm into the hAP and use an inexpensive DC power injector to get power to the antenna downline from the port on the hAP.

PS that's funny we both posted same time. Here's an example
https://www.amazon.com/12V-Converter-Transformer-Regulator-Waterproof/dp/B09235DJ1Q/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=3D3R90I00DOXY&keywords=9-20vdc+to+24vdc&qid=1697810451&sprefix=9-20vdc+to+24vdc%2Caps%2C144&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1
But the Hap is currently powered through the 24V adapter. The voltage of the POE output is power IN minus 2 V, also if I connect it on a 12 V battery, ther will be only 10V POE output. So I will need a DC 12V to 24V converter to power the hap and then the antenna through the POE. Thank you for the Amazon link :-)

IFAIK, firmware cannot be loaded on an 'antenna'!

All of those devices are shipped with a 24v AC adapter, but they will all operate fine on Passive PoE within a range of between 12v and 24v. You can run the Powerbeam from the PoE port of your Mikrotik hAP ac lite without any issues. You can also power it in the field using a 12v battery.

Sorry, it is a fault of mine.
I do try to avoid pronouns when who is doing what with which and/or to whom,
might get misread.

Eschew obfuscation, espouse elucidation.
I'm a difficult person in my own unique way and understand completely. Precision is a lost art in this day and age, so your efforts are noted.

Obviously the problem goes away if you flash the PowerBeam for AREDN
The one I don't know is if the other end of the PowerBeam path is also using Ubiquiti firmware and the two devices can be made sufficiently transparent to the traffic passing through them such that another AREDN device that has it DtD port connected to the far end Ubiquiti microwave path - essentially making the two AREDN devices appear to be directly connected to each other. Then it may well work.
