Today I gave a presentation about AREDN and the status of the Rhode Island mesh project for the local InfraGard meeting. It was well attended with representatives from local EMA, federal agencies, and the private/non-profit sector such as hospitals. The content was very similar to the talk I gave earlier this year but a bit shorter and more general. It was enthusiastically received and we made some new contacts that are interested in partnering with us. I left plenty of time for Q&A. There was a great deal of discussion about the difficulties of amateurs partnering with government at different levels and the wariness of some organizations to collocate our nodes. Several of the RI hams were in attendance and we spent some time discussing specifics with the audience over lunch. My slides are at the link below.
