Rod, WB9KMO, brought in a PicoStation to the Hamvention booth and described the difficulty he has had in flashing it. I offered to look at and have not been able to get it flashed.
It does not respond to any standard IP addresses and does not issue a dhcp lease. After a 30 second reset, I tftp firmware to it (either AREDN 3.16.1.1 or XM5.5) and all appears to go well (no errors encountered during or after the load). It reboots and then returns to the cyclopes lights like its ready for another tftp.
Has anyone seen this before? Has a recovery been documented? Any suggestions?

Does WiFi show it broadcasting "MeshNode"? Can you connect it that way?
I think but am not certain 5.6 uboot would throw an error on an upload of 5.5, but I'm not in a good spot to confirm so it's possible it doesn't thrown an error and it's the cause.
This also is somewhat similar to a Nanostation I have on my work bench for when I get back that is suspected of having lighting damage (it won't respond on 192.168.1.20 in TFTP mode)
