NSM365 ~ Not seeing 3 GHz channels

Hello,

I recently flash 4 NSM365 units with the corresponding AREDN firmware and have two questions:

  1. Each of the 4 NSM365 displays the message "Untested Hardware" in a yellow notification bar at the top of the page.
  2. Also, the units will only display 5 GHz channels, not 3 GHz.

Follow ups:

  • I downgraded the firmware via the GUI of 3 devices to AirOS 5.5.10, then loaded AREDN firmware via the GUI.
  • One NSM365 had an AirOS version of 6.0.7, I flashed via TFTP to AirOS 5.16.15, then loaded AREDN firmware via the GUI.
  • I am running the latest version of AREDN 3.16.1.1
  • I found the board_id = 0xe003, value obtained from http://localnode:8080/cgi-bin/sysinfo.json

Any ideas?

Hi Jacob,
Hi Jacob,

I'm nearly certain the M3.65 radios don't work for our purposes.  You have to have the M3 radios .... different hardware, although in the ballpark.

I use the M3 gear here in Alaska almost exclusively on our network (M3 radios with Sectors and RocketDishes, as well as the NSM3 units).  They work great.

Kent it right.
Kent it right.
the M365 models are NOT on the AREDN supported platform matrix.  Always check it first here: https://www.aredn.org/content/supported-platform-matrix

Kent,

Kent,

Yes, I did look the the matrix and I thought NSM3 was an abbreviation for the NSM365. Is one newer than the other? Will the NSM365 be getting support for AREDN? Looks like I now have 4 new paper weights.

no.  diferent bands/models.

no.  diferent bands/models.  3.65GHz is not planned for support since it's not Part 97.

(I added a note the SPM to make it more clear.)

Also, here are some more threads on this topic:    https://www.aredn.org/search/content/m365
