Norton WiFi Privacy and Aredn nodes

Norton WiFi Privacy and Aredn nodes
I have been chasing silly issues with connection to nodes and installation of the Mikrotik hap ac.

I think it is the Norton VPN loaded on the computers. I disabled the VPN and connections issues went away. I have not tried a new install, but suspect it will be less of an issue.

Does anyone have ideas about this theory?

Norton, Windows firewall, and
Norton, Windows firewall, and other similar tools can block ports to communicate with the devices.   If you suspect any interference, test by disabling the firewall or tool.   An active VPN connection will generally block access to local networks and route all the traffic over the VPN.   All such things should be disabled.
