Nano Station General Question - AREDN portable

If I had one of these at each end:

(AREDN Reference - 1.1 - Part 15 access)

With cellular turned off, would I be able to communicate iPhone to iPhone using FaceTime or Skype apps at each end?  That is, using AREDN mesh to connect.

Would I be able to get up to 15 km of range, line of sight?

Thanks.

Not Facetime nor Skype.  They
Not Facetime nor Skype.  They both require servers on the internet.
You could use Bria or Linphone or other VOIP apps that are peer to peer.

As far as distance, it depends on the devices at each end, antennas, elevation, clearance (line of sight), etc.
However, I can say 15km links are common.

That's pretty amazing! Could this be a 21st Century HT?
HTs are voice only.  This is voice, text, pictures, and live video.  Every ham with an HT should get one of these!  (HRO, are you listening?)

TeamViewer

TeamViewer works great with voice, video, file sharing, remote computer access! No server necessary and free for personal use.

Any upcoming AREDN-in-the-park events in SoCal?
AREDN-in-the-park seems like a great way to get up to speed with this subject of portable AREDN.  Anyone planning such an event in the Southern California area?
