Hi,
I am new to the Arden topic and I have a question to all who uses Hardware from MikroTik.
I have a leftover-Device from an other Project. This Device is al MikroTik Metal52AC. It transmitts on 2.4G and 5G and has an waterproof Case with an N-Plug Connector, witch is quite nice for a Node.
As anyone flashed such a device with the Arden Firmeware and Tested it? I did not find the Device on the List, and I really think that the Company reuses the internal Hardware in different Devices.
The Areden is quite new here in Germany, and I will start with this topic in the Winter Hollydays.
Kind regards, and best 73 de Gerold DD4SG

Sometimes the Mikrotik product name has multiple model #s. If the device is a RBwAPG-5HacT2HnD, then this is very similar to the RB952Ui-5ac2nD AREDN works on today. These devices have a 2GHz 802.11n chip and a 5GHz 802.11ac chip. There's a good chance we can get this model working with AREDN with a small amount of effort. What is the specific model # you have?
Note, only the 2GHz can be used as part of the mesh network. The 5GHz uses a different wireless driver that no one in the opensource community has changed to work on 10MHz and 5MHz channels, or hacked to work in ham radio only frequencies. We use the 5GHz for a mesh LAN AP, or to do a WAN Wifi client on these devices.

Hi Joe
The model number is RBMetalG-52SHPacn

Sorry to say, these negatives mean this device is a bit low on the list (non-MIMO and a known path to get there).

Hi at all,
Thanks for your Help. I will save that Divice for the future. Maybe another use case will appear.
