MikroTik LHG2 / LHG2XL
Any thought on these devices, and if they'd work with AREDN? They'd provide an excellent alternative to the PowerBeam, potentially at a lower price.

Internally, both devices are the same and are supported by OpenWRT. Both use the QCA9533 chipset, used in the (supported!) TP-Link CPE 210, but the LHG2's have twice the storage flash.

openwrt support?
I'm seeing the "LHG 5" listed on the OpenWrt list, but not the "LHG 2" devices.  Although, these are most likely the same.   We'd need to get a hold of the hardware (quickest), or someone that has the hardware that is open to the "brick risk" to remotely do installs of test images and feed back the results (considerably slower).   Must be linux savvy to do.

K3MMB, thanks.  The LHG 5 is the best option and I see now being shipped, ETA on Friday Nov 9, 2018.  We're not expanding much anymore on 2Ghz given the limited channels available and higher noise.

The changes to build an AREDN
The changes to build an AREDN image for the MIkrotik LHG 5 is submitted and will be in the nightly build shortly.    This is a great device with 25dBm tx power + 24.5 dBi antenna gain = 49.5 dBm ERP for only $58 .    This is a MIMO dual polarity device.
