Looking to establish a tunnel

In order to establish a tunnel to Orange County so I can check in to the Monday night net, I am looking to set up a NanoSt-M2 as the Client.   Note, the NanoSt-M2 seems to work properly, it is managed using a Win-7 laptop.  I used  SourceForge as a source for vtun-3.0.2.tar which I unpacked to 70 or so files and 7 directory.  When I try to use the upload pkg facility I can locate the files, but can only upload one at a time and directories will not upload at all.  This seems like something is not working properly. 

I suspect that if I could go to    http://aredn.org/node/25    things would start to work, but of course I get the  Open Letter......
