The AREDN documentation has the following:
Node Reset Button Actions
The reset button on an AREDN® node has two built-in functions based on the length of time the button is pressed.
With the node powered on and fully booted:
- Hold for 5 seconds to reset the password and DHCP service
- Hold for 15 seconds to return the node to “just-flashed” condition
I am assuming that "just-flashed" means the radio is back to Basic_Setup condition, with a default node name and default username and password.
I tried this with a configured nanoStation Loco M2 (XM) with 3.23.8.0 firmware. After a five-second Reset activation, the radio went back to Basic_Setup condition.
I did the setup again (several times), and tried 2-3 sec activations of Reset. This did change the node password back to default, but left other configurations unchanged.
What is different now so that the Reset button response on my radio does not match the AREDN documentation? This radio is probably 7 years old.
Thanks.

Rob -
Thanks for the update. The info on EDR #869 is an interesting read. I'd be tempted to try removing the /etc/ file from my nanoLoco, but would probably just brick a perfectly good old radio.
