Bob, the Linphone has to have an account/extension on the Grandstream PBX ahead of time. That account info is used by Linphone to 'register' with the PBX. Then the Linphone can call other extensions (and conference bridges, etc) on the PBX.
Linphone, like a VOIP phone, can be used to dial other VOIP phones by direct IP dialing too.
Thanks Orv. In our case there is no PBX and all calls are made by direct IP dialing.
But so far it is not working. In Linphone, I use the syntax sip:(IP address of Grandsteam phone).
But nothing happens. Is that the correct syntax?
Orv thanks very much for your encouragement. It is now working!
I went thru all my mess of test connections again and made sure I could ping.
Suddenly I could call from my PC with Linphone on one node to the Grandstream phone on another node.
Calling from the Grandstream does require the * for period, but calling from Linphone, it does not recognize
the *, but . works fine.
Just a word that adding a PBX is not too hard on a raspberry pi with raspbx image then you can use extensions and even conference bridges .
Great job on gettign your connections working
Hope that helps

And you use the * as the decimal point between the addresses?
