I was doing an initial install on a new AR300M16 today. It appears there may be a new/different built-in firmware than what is described in the main AREDN Install Docs.
There was a firmware checker on the Local Upgrade page that prevented the page from reflashing with the AREDN Firmware. The Upgrade section was in a different part of the menus and was not a side tab on the main admin frontpage. I was able to bypass this by going to the advanced config or "Luci" interface where I went to the Firmware Upload page under System. After uploading the AREDN Firmware, it showed prominent warning boxes. I unchecked the "Keep Settings" and then checked "Force Upgrade". This allowed the upload and reflash to occur, which took a little bit (I dunno, 3-5 minutes). After waiting for the IP address on my laptop to update to the correct IP range, I then entered the AREDN node as expected with IP address 192.168.1.1.
