I am trying to downgrade a MikroTik RouterBOARD LHG 5nD device from nightly 2089-bc77ff8 to 3.22.12.0.
It will not work via the GUI. And trying the CLI scp method (RE: https://www.arednmesh.org/content/can-aredn-firmware-be-updated-directly-device-using-terminal) also goes not work as it gives this error:
sysupgrade -n /tmp/aredn-3.22.12.0-ar71xx-mikrotik-rb-nor-flash-16M-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin

Image check failed.
Maybe the problem is going from ath79 back to ar71xx?
Any ideas? Thanks.

Mike, this section of the online docs should help with downgrading. Since you're going from the new target architecture to the legacy target, you need to do a fresh install as described here: https://docs.arednmesh.org/en/latest/arednHow-toGuides/firmware_tips.html#tips-for-downgrading-firmware
Thanks, that's good to know.
