I am looking for a way to create CNAME records (ie alias records) in AREDN DNS. The idea would be to create an alternate xxx.mesh.local pointers to DNS names that exist with the AREDN DNS system. For example, if I have a service that exists in AREDN DNS like:
CALLSIGN-MyService.local.mesh
I'd like to create a CNAME record that points to this as -
CALLSIGN-BetterName.local.mesh
Is there a way to do this? My application is to use a reverse proxy like NGINX Proxy Manager as a means to add self-signed SSL certificates and authorization (ie ID/password) to services that we are running inside our AREDN network.
