I'm feeling a bit stupid. I tried loading recent versions of AREDN onto an older nanostation, the version of which I couldn't determine; and onto an older nanobridge M5 that was acting like an M2. In both cases the only lights showing are the power light and the red light that only goes off and on. I've tried the reset button on the nanostation without any effect. I'm yet to try it on the M5. Can anyone give me some guidance to get them both back up and running?

Exactly what did you do with the reset button?
How did you determine that whatever you did was 'without any effect.'
Do the devices offer an IP address via DHCP?
Do the devices respond on 192.168.1.1?
While the device is powered, did you press and hold the reset button for 5 seconds?
While the device is powered, did you press and hold the reset button for 15 seconds?
While the device is unpowered, did you press and hold the reset button, then power the device,
then do the lamps flash 1 and 3, then 2 and 4, then 1 and 3, then 2 and 4,...?
If these devices are 32 Megabyte RAM devices, you may need the 'tiny' firmware.
(Nanostation XM, not Nanostation XW, IIRC.)
If these are <=32 Megabyte RAM devices, I recommend they be retired.
