aredn pinging ubiquiti servers?
I've been watching icmp packets on my node for about a week now and it's been normally quiet -- mostly just pings to dns servers with the occasional "unreachable" response.  Today I saw quite a bit of activity (still ongoing) with pings hitting what I think is a Ubiquiti network management system server ip address (unmsapp.com) (64.225.28.211).

Does the aredn firmware still use ubiquiti resources?

Were the ICMP packets being
Were the ICMP packets being originated from your node or were they passing through from somewhere else?
Also, does your node have internet access, and if so, are you making that access available to other AREDN users on the mesh?

I did have "allow others to
I did have "allow others to use wan" enabled and after I disabled that, the traffic stopped.  It's hard to troubleshoot where the traffic originated from with the binaries provided with the firmware.  Are there instructions for building openwrt packages that didn't make the cut?

Still interested in the kind of traffic I was seeing -- maybe someone connected a stock piece of equipment to the mesh and it was climbing the network looking for internet routes?

Ah, it's starting back up
Ah, it's starting back up again, and wan sharing is off.

How are you monitoring it?
How are you monitoring it?  For example, WireShark on the WAN port?
