Since the AREDN codebase was moved to github and the new build process started, participation in development has increased significantly. The numbers aren't large, but the numbers of contributors has about doubled since the move.
There are 14 issues still open, but only two of them are classified as bugs (the others are enhancements). Of the two bugs, one is for TPLink hardware, and the other may actually be resolved and they're just waiting to close it.
So I'd say the current nightly build is running just fine. I've pushed it out to about 20 nodes and the only issue I've had is having to reboot some of the older 32MB devices first to clear enough RAM for the update to succeed.
