I see you removed an older user account. I just got a new call sign (W6AE), and would like to substitute it for my old call sign (KF6IDO) on the system. Is that possible, or do you need for me to create a new account?

Please create a new account and when you activate it, I will disable the old account. This way we are assured that only you are controlling the account credentials and email address.

Thanks - I didn't get the followup email with how to log in, but I tried the password reset process. It worked.

I'll be posting information on an event for next year that I'll be trying to put up a mesh for it. One person will be several miles away - trying to see if there is the ability to tunnel on a network between the two sites.

Any reason the AREDN website

Any reason the AREDN website doesn’t let users change their account name or that the website doesn’t change their account when requested? Maybe at least auto follow the FCC database changesets?

What happens when someone gets the same callsign in the future and the account is disabled? Seems they would be prevented an account.

Also seems to prevent a poster from going back to their posts that receive updates.

This method just doesn't’t make sense to me.

We do see some areas for improvement in this area. Currently, the website requires a unique email address and there is no current automated (or self-service mechanism) to allow users to alter their login name associated with that email address. While we look into that capability, feel free to PM any callsign changes to Randy (WU2S).
