I'm attempting to build the Portable Internet Mesh Node found on Trevor's (K7FPV) blog and have hit some roadblocks on the Network config. page of the airGateway. (see picture at the bottom of post) Thanks for any help you can provide.
WAN Network Settings:
- the WAN interface is supposed to be set to LAN1 but the only option in the droplist is LAN0. How do I change this?
- Is the IP address a reserved IP address on the AREDN node WAN?
Management Network Setting:
- the Management Interface is supposed to be LAN1 but the only option in the droplist is LAN0. How do I change this?
Bridge Network
- the bridged ports are supposed to be WLAN0 and LAN0 not LAN1. How do I change this?
Can we run the new release v3.18.9.0 with portable mesh?

http://www.trevorsbench.com/portable-internet-mesh-node/ It can run using your smart phone (Hot Spot) and or other wireless internet.
All AREDN nodes operate the same way. So yes, release 3.18.9.0 can definitely be used in systems such as described in Trevor's article.
I didn't see the solution posted so ...
Go the the "Bridge Network" section and delete LAN1 ... you can then make the proper selection in the "WAN Network Settings" & the "Management Network Settings" ... then finish by adding LAN0 to the "Bridge Network" ports section.

Thank you for responding. I was so frustrated trying to get this to work I put it back in the box! Time to get it back out and on the bench! I did find a minor issue with Trevor's instructions about the AirRouter configuration file was meant for the air Gateway took me awhile to catch the file name. It is a great package! I will report back when finished!
This guide is primarily intended for mobile users (boaters, campers and truckers) who often change access points. I found it useful for setting up a 2 GHz Loco as a wifi client feeding another 5 GHz Loco as a tunnel client.

Note that certain WiFi Access Points require accepting a usage policy via a web page before connecting to the Internet. This will require something with a browser attached to the LAN side of the WiFi Client in order to access this web page and agree to the usage policy. NB: This must be done through the Ubiquiti device and not by another device on RF. Also, I have had one occasion where the LAN network settings from the Loco were the same as the WiFi access point to which I was connecting. This caused problems until I changed the Loco LAN settings to be something different and obscure that would not likely be used by any WiFi Access Point I might use in the future.

I was able to make the changes as described by Julie but still no luck. Maybe it's pilot error as the only instructions are to connect to the TP-Link. I can connect to the airGateway's IP and select the Hot-Spot that I preselected during the setup and I am thinking that this point it should be connected to the tunnel with my smart phone Hot-Spot. It does show an Internet connection is NOT available to the TP-Link. I can get an Internet connection if I connect to the Hot-Spot direct. I also can see the AREDN node from the TP-Link but not the airGateway. I hope I described this clearly! I know I'm missing something...
One other thing, Ethernet port #3 is dead (arrived that way) and #4 is the DtD connection so I can't connect a computer directly but I can use the TP-Link AP.

After pulling out what I have left of my hair I got it to work! On the newer airGateway's and maybe the older there is a MAC address for for each LAN and WAN but I used the MAC address on the label for the airGateway...Wrong!! You should use the LAN1 MAC address for the AREDN DHCP reservation.
Now to open a new can of worms!! I plan on replacing the airRouter using the new Mikrotik hAP lite 952ui-5ac2nd...I don't know what's wrong with me!!
