Hello Michiganders!!!
I see that there are a few mesh nodes spread throughout Michigan and I wanted to a Michigan roll call to see what was happening in our state! If you are in South East Michigan feel free to use that subforum!
I am in Washtenaw County in south east Michigan and here there is a group of about 25-30 people working to get a network setup in and around our county. Some of us recently purchased equipment and had a setup party last Monday. We are now working on getting our nodes deployed. Some information on our current plans and activity can be found at http://nuge.com/mesh/

The Western Upper Peninsula of Michigan has MESH activity going on. On the Keweenaw Peninsula (Houghton to Copper Harbor) we are working to put up MESH coverage in a four county area, starting with a string of nodes going up the spine of the Keweenaw Peninsula. Some delays in getting tower space, but hopeful for good advancements this summer to include Baraga County, Houghton and Keweenaw Counties followed by expansion into Ontonagon County.

We would love to tunnel with you all once we both have tunnels active. Keep us updated!

Hi, there are a few of us in the tri-city area that have been messing with meshnet for a bit now. I have done a lot with BBHN in the past but I just loaded Aredn on a node for the first time this weekend. So far it is very similar to BBHN but more responsive and more stable then the version of BBHN I was using (think they are on a newer version now). I have setup a PBX/IP phone system for use on BBHN and was able to move it to Aredn with little work. One thing I did notice is that with BBHN, connecting to a system using the host name was... less then reliable. So far it works great on Aredn. That has made things a lot easier. Anyway, I would be more than happy to help you guys with whatever I can. I am in that area of the state once or twice a month. As I said I just started using Aredn so my nodes are not listed on the map but if you go to the BBHN site, I am on their map. Probably still listed under my old call KE8AVJ.
Thanks,
K8AVJ
Newbe here in the Thumb (Fostoria) Looking to get started on AREDN... but I'd need a node to join...
