Hamvention 2018 - Your Suggestions
The AREDN Project and the Miami Valley Mesh Alliance will have a large presence at Hamvention 2018. We will be in booth 1001 in Building 1 at the Greene County Fairgrounds near Xenia, Ohio. The dates are May 18, 19 and 20, 2018.
We are planning to conduct several demonstrations and answer all your questions about how mesh networking can aid your local emergency response agencies. Please respond to this thread so that we can collect your suggestions for what you would like to see demonstrated.
Andre Hansen K6AH will do a presentation in Forum room 2 on Saturday, May 19h, from 1:30 to 2:30. He will focus on applications of an AREDN mesh network.
An active AREDN network will be in operation during Hamvention. It will operate on channel -2 with 10MHz bandwidth. You may connect to it with your portable equipment. Other bands may also be used – please check with us at our booth.
We are considering demonstrations in our booth to address:
- Getting started with VoIP telephony
- Using streaming video cameras
- Repeater linking via a mesh network
- Installing AREDN firmware
- Mesh network planning
We are looking forward to seeing you there.
Change 2017 in your first line to 2018.
Great topics so far:
interested in being able to stream from MESH to I-net w/ Ubiquiti G3 camera..
how to do phone PBX without a single point of failure.
network planning over a four county area
Hope to be there.
A session on identification of encrypted traffic and how to block it to remain in compliance with Part 97 might be a good presentation.
