How to connect Portable Mesh Node -> AirGateway-> Android

I wanted a small walk around mesh node with an Access Point so I can look at cameras or text via Mesh Chat. Here's what I got....

Ubiquiti M2... https://www.amazon.com/Ubiquiti-NanoStation-loco-M2-Wireless/dp/B00HXT8FFI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1506365526&sr=8-1&keywords=ubiquiti+M2

Ubiquiti AirGateway..... https://www.amazon.com/Ubiquiti-AIRGATEWAY-Wireless-access-802-11/dp/B00HXT84DG/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1506365576&sr=1-2&keywords=ubiquiti+airgateway

POE injector (use the the one with the female 2.5mm barrel connector.... https://www.amazon.com/iCreatin-Passive-Injector-Splitter-Connector/dp/B00NRHNPUA/ref=sr_1_12?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1506365616&sr=1-12&keywords=POE+injector

1.)Attach M2 to POE connection on AirGateway
2.)Attach POE injector to male ethernet connection on back of AirGateway.
3.) Connect 12 V to the female 2.5mm  barrel connector on the POE injector. I used a 12V 7AH battery with blade connectors and a pigtail with a 2.5 mm male connector on one end and the female mates for the blade connectors on the other end.
4.) Put it all in a plastic ammo box.

5.) Set up the M2 as an AREDN Mesh node.
6.) Change username, password and wifi password on the AirGateway.
7.) I changed the Network mode to "Bridge" on the AirGateway and the LAN Mode to be "13 host Direct" on the Mesh Node. With these settings the AirGateway doesn't hand out IP addresses, but the Mesh Node does. The Mesh node will hand out up to 13 IP addresses.

I connected my Android phone to the AirGateway via wifi. Now I can just take this with me wherever I'm in range of an AREDN Mesh network and look at everything on the Mesh.

I hope this helps a fellow newbie

POE to AirGateway to M2

You might want to use some velcro to secure the POE Injector to the AirGateway as this will easily pop apart.
