I run Allstar, I am using WA3DSP's Pi image and it has been working great. I am not running it over 802.11 RF as of this time, though I like the idea. I know some folks in Michigan are doing that. https://w8cmn.net/tiki-index.php?page=Mi6WAN-MAIN
I'm running it here, both the dial distro and WA3DSP/KB4FXC distro. I have one "public" node and several "private" nodes. Little known is that you can also use it as a pbx in addition to AllStar. After all, AllStar is based on asterisk, which is a pbx in the first place. Create some new config files and add some modules not loaded by AllStar and you are in business. It's not as easy as running FreePBX, but the code is a lot slimmer and you can actually see what is happening when calls are placed. In addition, you can also create some custom applications which are impossible under stock FreePBX. One that I created allows a user to dial another ham by his callsign "Dial By Callsign".
Since I have a number of these running, they are networked both for AllStar as well as telephony. And, the main node is also networked with several other FreePBX's out there on the Mesh.
In short, it works and works well.
