New Polycom VVX 410 Setup Assistance & Seeking Starter's Guide

Hello fellow AREDN enthusiasts,

I'm excited to share that I've just received my Polycom VVX 410, and I'm eager to dive into setting it up for use on our network. However, as someone who's looking to build a solid foundation from the ground up, I find myself in need of a bit of guidance.

Is there anyone here who has created or come across a beginner's guide for setting up devices like the Polycom VVX 410 within the AREDN framework? Any tips, tricks, or step-by-step guides would be immensely appreciated. I believe a solid starting point could not only benefit me but also serve as a valuable resource for other members who might be embarking on a similar journey.

Additionally, for those who might be inclined to offer direct assistance, I'd like to mention that I also have a MikroTik hAP ac lite at my disposal. This could potentially facilitate a more hands-on approach to guiding me through the setup process, should you be familiar with it and willing to help.

I'm looking forward to integrating my Polycom VVX 410 into our network and contributing to the community. Any advice, guides, or personal experiences you're willing to share will go a long way in helping me get started on the right foot.

Thank you in advance for your support and guidance. I'm keen to learn from the wealth of knowledge within this community and eventually pass on what I've learned to others.

Best Regards,
KN4TLV

VOIP Phones
Tyler, set your phone up for DHCP and plug it in where it will get an AREDN DHCP address (typically to a Mikrotik hAP of some sort).   It'll show up under Current DHCP Leases.   Add it, and it'll appear under DHCP Address Reservations.  If you're going to do straight IP dialing, that's about it.  You can dial by entering the IP address of the phone you want to call.

If you want to dial via a VOIP PBX via extensions, you'll have to find a PBX operator on the network to assign you an extension.  You'll also have to configure the phone to "know" about its PBX
