Having problem with MikroTik hAP ac lite Dual-concurrent Access Point (RB952Ui-5ac2nD-US)
A very experienced ARDEN Operator and I are having a problem getting the firmware to boot after it loads.
We are trying to load a "MikroTik hAP ac lite  (RB952Ui-5ac2nD-US)) Device.
We did get confirmation that the firmware was received by the router TFTPd: DoReadFile: rb.elf.  After that, it never reboots into the ARDEN setup.
The other ham has done lots of these and he said he has not seen this problem. We had the same problem with 2 different routers.  Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks Mac KO4UWY

Just to confirm - after the rb.elf loads, you're moving the Ethernet cable from Port 1 to one of the WAN ports (2-4)?

After installing the
After installing the initramfs-kernel.bin...

Install the sysupgrade Firmware Image
  1. After booting the elf image the node will have a default IP address of 192.168.1.1.
Your computer should already have a static IP address on this subnet, but if not then give your computer an IP address on this subnet.
(Confirm that your installation computer has an IP address in the 192.168.1.0/24 network and ---> (*).)

Attention

For the Mikrotik hAP ac family of devices,
disconnect the Ethernet cable from the WAN port (1) on the Mikrotik and
insert it into one of the LAN ports (2,3,4) before you proceed.  <--- +1 with Orv (*)

You should be able to ping the node at 192.168.1.1. <---
Don’t proceed until you can ping the node.  <---
You may need to disconnect and reconnect your computer’s network cable to ensure that your IP address has been reset.
Also, you may need to clear your web browser’s cache in order to remove cached pages remaining from your node’s previous firmware version.

" it never reboots into the ARDEN setup."
What test did you perform to make that determination?

Can not ping the router after the elf image has loaded
The elf image loaded as it should. We got the confirmation from the pxe server. We waited for 10-15 min and tried to ping the router with no success.
If you went back to the old IP address you could still have the mikrotik router running. The guy that helping me has installed a lot of these and has not had this problem in the past. Thanks for your input on this. We did install it on the wan port 1.  Thanks KO4UWY Mac

Can not ping the router after the elf image has loaded
Hi, Mac:
Both Orv (#2) and myself (#3) assumed that the (rb.elf/-initframfs-kernel.bin) install portion was completed.
You did not respond to Orv's #2.
Let us move forward on the assumption that the first portion of the install procedure was completed.
Please confirm that you moved the ethernet cable from the install computer to port 2 or 3 or 4 on the hAP.
Please state the IP address of the installing computer when you tried to ping the router.
Regarding:
"If you went back to the old IP address you could still have the mikrotik router running."
1. What was the new IP address you used?
2. What was the old IP address you used?
3. Please expand what "still have the mikrotik router running" means.
i.e. Running what? Router OS?
Please state exactly which file was renamed rb.elf.
