New here, trying to perform primary install onto hAP ac lite. No success yet. In the DOWNLOAD section, I only see and receive <kernal>.bin. No where can I find the .elf file referred to in instructions and video reviews. I have changed name of kernal file .bin to rb.elf, no firmware update. I have held the reset button for 11 minutes. One forum reply stated it could take up to 16min. Do I need to be more patient? Can someone please guide me to the proper .elf file if that is what I need? Thank you.
Rename the initramfs-kernel file to rb.elf and keep the sysupgrade bin file available for later.
"In the DOWNLOAD section, I only see and receive .bin."
Use AFS (Automatic Firmware Selector). Enter hap ac lite into the text box.
Download both the 'kernel' and the 'sysupgrade' files.
See attached image.
Specific for your hAP-lite:
Option 1: Follow the documentation:
Rename
aredn-3.23.12.0-ath79-mikrotik-mikrotik_routerboard-952ui-5ac2nd-initramfs-kernel.bin
to
rb.elf
Else: Option 2:
2a Linux
sudo dnsmasq -i eth0 -u joe --log-dhcp --bootp-dynamic --dhcp-range=192.168.1.100,192.168.1.200 -d -p0 -K --dhcp-boot=aredn-3.23.12.0-ath79-mikrotik-mikrotik_routerboard-952ui-5ac2nd-initramfs-kernel.bin --enable-tftp --tftp-root=/tftp/
2b Windows:
In Tiny PXE Server, in the Boot File Filename box, browse to aredn-3.23.12.0-ath79-mikrotik-mikrotik_routerboard-952ui-5ac2nd-initramfs-kernel.bin
After either Option 1 or Option 2, proceed to
'Install the sysupgrade Firmware Image' in the documentation.
I recomment Option 1.
