I am building out a node and I have been looking at using the hAP ac3 as a switch and to provide standard WiFi (not mesh RF).
Does the Arden firmware for this unit automatically configure RF for the mesh network?
My best case scenario is the firmware will do switch configuration (VLANs, DHCP forwarder, etc) but leave the RF as standard WiFi.
Given my scenario am I better served running OEM firmware and manually configuring networking?
Thanks in advance,

When you first flash the device it will be set up for Mesh RF, it's easy to disable that and enable either 2 or 5 Ghz wifi and use the node as an access point for other non-AREDN devices such as laptops, phones etc..
Screenshot of my config below, I have to use 2Ghz for wifi as I'm using a rPi 3B.
You can configure the ports (in AREDN) for different VLANs as well, default Port 5 is VLAN 2 for DtD connections, 2-4 are LAN and port 1 is WAN (connect to internet router).
Hope this answers your question and I didn't misunderstand your post.
