Some of the ones I have run across so far are: MITM, STA, DHCP, SISO, MIMO, DATV . It is difficult to make sense of the conversation without being able to define these acronyms. I'm sure there are many more.
https://www.arednmesh.org/comment/18354#comment-18354 I seem to remember that some fairly old models from Alfa could do AP and STA(client) mode simultaneously.
Of the 3 modes of a Wi-Fi device; Access Point(AP), Client(STA), and 'ad-hoc'.
... Other references about the internal doings of Wi-Fi that baffle me.
Here is definition and VERY simplistic descriptions)
MITM = Man In The Middle (a way of hacking)
STA = beats me without context
DHCP = Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (assigns IP addresses)
SISO = Single Input Single Output (one radio on each end of link)
MIMO = Multiple Input Multiple Output (two radios at each end of a link)
DATV = Digital Amateur TeleVision (ham TV using digital)
I have done a little internet searching in effort to find definitions fo some of the acronyms used in AREDN speech. What follows is the results of my search - not in any particular order.
LQM - Link Quality Manager
DHCP - Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol
MITM - Man in the Middle
SISO - Single in Single Out
MIMO - Multiple In Multiple Out
DATV - Digital Amateur Television
DtD - Device to Device
TDMA - Time Division Multiple Access
CSMA - Carrier Sense Multiple Access
OLSR - Optimized Link State Routing
WISP - Wireless internet service provider
FQDN - Fully Qualified Domain Name
BBHN - Broadband Ham Net
STA - Special Temporary Authority
I am still searching for a few others - MAC - FOSS - OSLR which I suspect is atypo of OLSR.
not a concise list of acronyms.
BUT, the official AREDN SEARCHABLE documentation is here: https://arednmesh.readthedocs.io/en/latest/index.html (DOCS on the website main menu)
STA
