We're about to start building a fairly large mesh network and having a tough time finding the equipment we need. The sources we've used in the past are all out of stock, or if you find it the vendor is price-gouging. The CPE710 is available, but it's still not listed in the support matrix or in Github. I understand there was an openWRT pre-requisite for support, but there were a few comments at the end of 2021 that AREDN was going to happen soon. Any news on this?
We're looking at the CPE610 and WBS510 in lieu of the Ubiquiti gear we normally use. If anyone has a good source of Ubiquiti gear (Rocket M2/M5, 2G/5G dishes and 2G sector antennas) that would be welcome. I have been able to find MikroTik LHG HP/XL dishes, so that may be what we have to go with.
Thanks.

There aren't a lot of people running the TP-Link gear. I would recommend the MikroTik LHG series unless they are in snow/icy areas. Then I would probably suggest a Ubiquiti Rocket Dish with a MikroTik BaseBox.
I *like* TP-link devices, although all of mine have built-in antennas: a number of TP-link AREDN nodes (CPE210. CPE220, CPE510) on our remote mesh island up here, above the 45th parallel, that have made it thru the last several winters with no issues. Here's a recent sunrise image from one of our mountain top cameras located on a VLAN combining 2.4 and 5.8 nodes up there at 9200'+ (a few miles above town).

ps: that's the Continental Divide out there in the distance towards the northeast!
Here's one on Amazon, but says the US version is locked. Can I flash stock AREDN, or should I use a nightly build? TNX!!

"We're about to start building a fairly large mesh network and having a tough time finding the equipment we need."
What equipment do you need and where are you looking?
"The CPE710 is available, but it's still not listed in the support matrix or in Github."
Why are you considering equipment that is not in the support matrix?
"I understand there was an openWRT pre-requisite for support, but there were a few comments at the end of 2021 that AREDN was going to happen soon.
Any news on this?"
I do not expect that new equipment will soon be added to the support matrix.
"We're looking at the ... in lieu of the ... we normally use.

Since I do not have a clue as to your topography or distances between nodes, I refrain from offering equipment suggestions.
Andre has created an 'equipment selection chart':

I hope this helps,

Apologies for the cryptic question. I realized I forgot to reply to this, so also sorry for the late reply/bump, but for anyone interested: I wasn't really looking for equipment recommendations, just trying to find the best replacement for an RM5 with an ISO-BEAM-620 dish (unavailable at the time). Equipment availability is much better now, but for weight and wind loading considerations we decided to use the MikroTik RBLHG-5HPnD-XL-US anyway. Installing it later this month, finally.
Thanks for the link to the selection chart - very useful & informative (Thx, Andre).

I'm looking at this but w/o XL - love to see update when you have more info, Rob!
