I've been eyeing this system for a while, but just came upon some cheap hardware to potentially give AREDN a try. I picked up this AC Gen2 PowerBeam for a shamefully low price with the thought that it might be a good candidate for AREDN. Now upon checking out the supported hardware list, I don't see this one listed. Is this one just untested, or is the chipset entirely unsupported? I appreciate any guidance!
This thread answers my question (didn't come up in my first search): https://www.arednmesh.org/content/ubnt-power-beam-5ac-second-gen
I'll revise my question: does anyone know if there's any roadmap to add support for this device and... where can I check for myself to see where roadmap goals are?

IIRC, in the AirMax series, the PowerBeam and the NanoBeam were equivalent.
Your Ubiquiti PowerBeam AC Gen2 seems to be supported by openwrt.org.
However, AREDNMESH is typically only released for devices whose wireless driver
can be configured out of Part 15 channels and into the non-shared Part 97 area.
You shudda got 2 and operate them in with AirOS or OpenWRT-19.07.x in Part 15.
