I live a bit north of Pittsburgh and have purchased a MikroTik hAP ac 2 and have flashed the AREDN firmware on it and two SXTsq devices that I am going to use to try and set up a radio link with a friend in the area.
I am looking for a connection to the wider AREDN network to experiment and maybe work with a local club or two to get a larger deployment worked out for the area.

WH7DH-FREEDOM-PA-HAP appears to be right next door to you. Maybe a tunnel to him might be appropriate.
Actually you two are at most 5 miles apart. I did an LOS check and there's a high point on Skyview Lane that prevents it from being line of sight. If you can find a repeater in that area and persuade the owner that an AREDN node would be useful there, that might be a way around (or over) it :-)Orv W6BI
