I have two Unifi Switch 8's connected over SFP, one in my shop, the other in the house.
I have my mesh gateway unit connected at the house where the internet comes in, it is an ARHP.
I have an M2 Loco in the shop where I connect to a few other mesh devices via RF.
There is no RF connection between the house and the shop.
I'd like to be able to DTD the ARHP in the house with the M2 Loco in the shop via the Unifi 8 switches, which are not on AREDN.
I tried setting VLAN2 tagged to the ports to which the ARHP and M2 Loco were connected, but they didn't recognize each other. I used the DTD port on the ARHP and the only port on the M2 Loco.
I thought that having VLAN2 tagged on each end would make the necessary link. I'm not sure if something special is needed since there isn't a DTD dedicated port on the M2 Loco.
Does anyone have suggestions on how this might be accomplished, or if this is possible?
Thanks

Commonly, this would be set up with a 'trunk' between the 2 switches.
There would be 2 VLAN2 ports on each switch;
one port connects to the AREDN device and one is the trunk.
The SFP and one ethernet port tagged VLAN1 and VLAN2 on each switch might work.
Have you tried to tunnel?
